Realtime boards beat status meetings
If the board is current, you do not need a meeting to find out who moved what.
Status meetings exist to answer a question the board should already answer: what changed since yesterday, and who is holding it.
When the board updates only on refresh, or only after someone remembers to move a card, the meeting becomes the source of truth. That is backwards.
Current is the feature
A board is only useful if it is current. When a teammate moves a task, leaves a comment or attaches a file, every other open board should reflect it within a second or two — not after someone asks in chat whether you saw it.
Meetings for judgement, not inventory
Keep the conversation for trade-offs and client politics. Do not spend paid time listing which cards moved. If people still need the inventory meeting, the board is not trusted yet — fix that first.
How Flowcove approaches it
Live moves, comments and file drops broadcast across open boards. The people who need to know see the change where the work lives. That is the quiet alternative to another standup that exists only because the tools lag.
